Well that was certainly fun. Would love to do it again some time soon but with a little less lack of sleep. While I'm writing this I have not been to sleep yet since I said my goodbye's to Scott and my friends. The lack of sleep is really kicking in. Going through a ticket check to baggage check I lost my ticket and had to get a new one. Boy am I glad I was 3 hours early. When I'm this tired I can only do one thing at the time and right now it's either sleep or write my report.
The first day: Dress rehearsal.
We got there very early. The dress rehearsal started at 10:30 we were there at 8. We confiscated the seats first row center garden boxes which would cost about 200 dollars that evening. We took up two boxes and made sure our friends were first row too. It was great, we had heard one could record and take pictures. So we sat up the perfect angle and we were ready to go. Of course all that sounded just a little bit too good to be true and later we all got asked to put our camera's away.
Before the show began a guy walked on the stage and said he wanted all of us to put our cams away, no pics, no recording. He didn't want to see amateur video or amateur pictures on the web.
Scott was great. But as I said before this guy singing a gospel song called 'sit down you're rocking the boat' rocked the house. You just wanted to get up and clap and dance along. By the third show people were already yelling and whistling before he even started to sing. Guess there were more people there that went all three days.
There were several really great songs. I love "sue me" that Scott sang together with Ellen And I loved "Luck be a lady tonight" by Brian Stokes Mitchell
At a certain point DonnaMarie pointed out a dancer I think it was in blue that danced really well, but my focus was on someone else. I think I missed most of that show half jetlegged I just wanted to absorb Scott that morning. It was hot. Some of the gals got really sick. Sunstroke and sunburn hit hard within my in own group. I got through it pretty well and so far not even a Mexican sounding sneeze.
Scott was great. He looks a little skinny though, but that might be the mustache though. Last night he mentioned it would come off first chance he got, so I guess that would be this morning J I second that motion wholeheartedly.
I have no clue why he had that mustache in the first place, Sinatra didn't have a mustache in the movie. But it looked sort off in character with Nathan. He wore a black white striped suit which looked good on him and one of the Humphrey Bogarts hats.
I enjoyed it much more than the movie. That was awful, sorry Marlon Brando just can't sing.
After the dress rehearsal Jay came to tell us Scott wouldn't be coming out because he was going over notes. He did take about a minute though to come out, let some people in and Zoila actually managed to get a hug from him in the process.
That evening everything went smooth. No flaws where ever that I noticed. Oh there might have been little things but I didn't see them or noticed them.
After the show again it was filled with fans at the stage door. But Scott didn't have much time. A couple of girls got their pics and he was gracious as ever promising us that he would be there for us tomorrow but he was tired and it had been a long day with the dress rehearsal and the show. He was charming about it though and we understood, it had been a long day for most of us.
So the second day one of the microphones gave up during a phone call Scott was making with the other party. Now it wasn't Scott's mic but the other party. Funny thing was they didn't fix it during the show so the other guy just had to yell really hard but I was all the way in the back of the theater and I could still hear him. Well that's life performance for you I guess. Again Scott did a smashing job, and so did the rest of them, but we were all looking forward now to a little personal time with Scott after the show.
And he came, no problem, he mingled with the fans friendly, loving and caring as always. I wish I could put my pic online but I would have to plead not guilty to insanity. The lack of sleep by now was killing me. Over 24 hours in a plane, a snoring roomy that kept me up most of that night that followed and than dress rehearsal another sleepless night and than in Scott's arms, yeah that look in my eyes defiantly says "due to lack of sleep slipping in to insanity". I have me another raccoon eye shot, and Scott looks smashing as ever in the pic. Well smashing with a mustache. He looked at one of the pics and went "Ooohhh, gee I forgot about the mustache", that didn't leave much to the imagination how he felt about the mustache himself.
I felt too tired to give him the ipod on the second night. I still stumbled over some words on the third night but I had slept a little more. I guess if you're basically walking around like a zombie at a certain point you'll sleep through everything.
On the third night performance I upgraded my seat. The first two nights I was all the way in the back of the bowl. The last night Sandra and I sat together. It was fun but I got busted being naughty. I'm glad they didn't ask me for my memory card but if they had than they would have received a couple of bad quality pics. Well maybe one or two decent ones but my fav pics are the ones of Saturday evening.
On Sunday night Scott came out again but he looked somewhat in a rush, and I still had to give him the ipod. I just wanted some space, there were so many people there and I just didn't want to do it in the crowd and have to yell in his ear to make him hear me. I waited basically till the last minute to give the ipod to Scott.
First I got sucked in by the stories of Scott told by his dad. His dad saw Sandra and thought she was another German girl he first met so he started talking to her and the other Sandra. Oh the things he tells about Scott (which I'm sorry but I'm not going to share because they were pretty personal)
His dad is fun, so is his mom cause his dad just seemed to have a hard time walking away from us enjoying talking to us so when Scott's mom got in the car she called for him several times and when he didn't seem to be making any move towards getting in the car she yelled at him "Bye Stu", and "You ladies take good care of him" J
Before all this I was able to give Scott the Ipod though. I was too tired the night before and I just didn't think I would be able to maintain straight thoughts and Scott always interrupts with sweet remarks and you easily get lost for words so I had my picture of the UK signed instead of giving him the Ipod.
The last night I waited till practically all the fans had left to give him the Ipod. (oh and he was wearing a white shirt but because his dad's stories I couldn't drag myself away to take more pics of Scott. Tough choice you know, inside info or taking pics of the man when he wears white J)
Scott was packing the trunk with all the stuff he brought to the Hollywood Bowl and gifts he had received from fans and friends. Moaning under the heavy load of the last bag and wondering how to fit it in I made a remark this will fit cause it's not that big. Here's the sound file of what went down with the ipod. He really did love the gift.

After the goodbyes and hearing he would go to a family reunion we went back to the Hotel. I packed and the shuttlepod picked me up t bring me home. It was fun though, I hope we can all do it again soon.
More pics and vids in the music vid later.
